JOHN SIEMIENOWICZ
Founder & President

John is responsible for sales, marketing, project management, purchasing, accounting, contract and subcontract review and approval for virtual fabricator/structural steel brokerage service.

Prior to developing Jay Steel, LLC, John worked as Sales Manager for a major southern New Hampshire steel company between 1997 and 2000. His work ethic and extensive knowledge earned him a strong reputation in the industry. Between 1993 and 1997, John was the Vice President of Sales & Engineering for another structural & bridge fabrication facility in the Connecticut River Valley of New Hampshire. In this position, he was responsible for all sales and engineering for this facility housing approximately 190,000 square feet of manufacturing. Prior to this, John served as the Vice President of Operations and a Senior Project Manager for this same employer. There, he was responsible for day to day operation of the firm's structural steel building division. John has been involved in all aspects of structural steel fabrication since 1979, including bidding, fabrication, detailing and erection for both building and bridge structures.

John served as the Vice President for the Structural Steel Fabricators in New England during 1998 and as the President during 1999. John was also a lecturer for American Institute of Steel Constructors (AISC) during their North American Convention in Toronto, OT in 1999 on Structural Steel Plans & What Information Is Essential. Additional lectures included AISC's Essentials of Steel Design Economy design seminar series in 1999, lectured at Build Boston on Design & Building with Steel for their program fall of 1999 and AISC's Selecting Structural Steel System design seminar series in 1996. John has also served as a judge for the New England Regional Collegiate Steel Bridge Competition in 2003 (Worcester Polytechnic Institute), 2002 ( University of Connecticut ) 2000 ( Tufts University ), 1998 ( Northeastern University ), and 1996 ( University of New Hampshire ).

Mr. Siemienowicz is currently on the Ways and Means Committee for the Town of Amherst, and is Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.

John holds an Associate's Degree in Civil Technology from State University Agriculture and Technical College in Delhi, New York (1979).

ALLISE de SMET, P.E.
Majority-Owner & Vice President

Allise is responsible for development of business strategy, office management, assistance in project management and financial tracking.

Allise is a licensed professional engineer with more than twenty years of experience in engineering design, project management, and construction coordination. In addition, she has experience in office management and contract coordination, staff management, development of plans and specifications for public and private bidding and field services.

Allise holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1983). She is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maryland and is NCEES certified.

Ms. de Smet is currently President of the Milford Rotary Club and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.

HAL LEVINE
Field Representative

Hal has been working with Jay Steel since the fall of 2001 and is responsible for coordinating field activities, including site management and coordination of material delivery and supervision of construction and subcontractors. Hal ensures the subcontractors deliver quality products and perform safely and effectively at job sites.  

Previously, Hal was Director of Sales and Marketing for an international environmental equipment company. His responsibilities included managing the sales and marketing staff, customer services and product development. Hal, a professional geologist, also worked as a consulting geologist and operations manager for a major oil field services company in the Rocky Mountains, Mid Continent area and Canada. Prior to working in the oil business, Hal was a science teacher in Lake Placid, NY.

Hal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the State University of New York.

CHARLES STEARNS
Controller

Charles joins Jay Steel with 15 years of accounting and financial management in the construction industry. After working with an industry-leading elevator company in Canadian and US offices, he worked for several years at a major AISC-certified structural steel company in southern New Hampshire, then at a major New England window manufacturer.

Charles operates a small hobby farm from an 1810 farmhouse in Brookline. On weekends he can usually be found riding the roads and trails on his horses.

CAROL GRAY
Assistant to the President


Carol joined Jay Steel, LLC in February 2007 as John’s assistant. She previously worked at a national consulting firm specializing in engineering where she had been employed for the past eight and a half years, most recently as the Assistant to the Senior Vice President. Carol holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Certificate in Spanish from Saint Anselm College (1994). She has worked in various industries in an administrative capacity for the past 13 years.

She enjoys spending time off with her daughter, Emma.
